2 pots of strawberry yoghurt
1/4 leftover of strawberry pockey sticks
A tall carton pack of brown rice soya milk
A jug of Farmhouse fresh milk
Packet of fresh blueberries
4 golden kiwi fruit
2 pots of caramel custard pudding
A packet of US russet potatoes (ideal for baked & mashed ups!)
leftover maple syrup honey oat brans
A packet tray of chocolate mint slice biscuits

Great for TV snacks! yay… i cannot wait to start munching on it now and finish watching True Blood season 1. I wonder when i could take a peace of mind off my dreadful work, with my current disputes and problems at work i just pray so hard God will provide! My paranoia and worries seems to be the bane of my life and i can tell you im trying my best in shifting my attention. I’m looking forward to catch Vampire diaries, Melrose place and 10 things i hate about you TV series.

In dreams

I couldn’t sleep last night. I lay with my eyes gazing blankly, not tired enough to close them, with no thoughts, just space. The light fading dimly outside the blinds wavered, and the night with all its dark little sounds murmured just beyond it, but in my bed nothing changed. It seemed to me that I was growing more and more awake, and the bed seemed to grow smaller around me – and the sheets beneath my body seemed to grow restless in retaliation, as if they were trying to pull the bed away from me.
Eventually I tried listening to music, setting my whirring little machine onto shuffle, trying to find something that would lead my mind to slumber. It took hours, but as the haze overtook me, a song began that seemed to match the blue and yellow strains of light tiptoeing in onto the ceiling, a beautiful song that made me want to give in to it, and follow it wherever it went when it finished, into my dream, into a welcome and deep sleep.

But why the hell did i dream about Kai Yee and Faith Chung. Its kinda like i must have been trying to fit into them so badly. Its up for decision, either go downtown hipster or uptown social. what the what, i could have miss hanging out with them. I did. In fact its just the three of us hanging around in a grandeur soho building, talking and talking. Its those BFF moments you wish you had your frequent chill-outs together. I know myself. Seriously, i can never reach the same level as them or i could just be myself and enjoy their company every chance i’ve got.

I have no idea what that song was, I’m fairly certain I dreamt most of it, but I think this was what it started out as – a fine mess from Brian Cullen’s Love Bullets. It certainly has that gorgeous little intro that feels like wandering into another, gentler, level of sleep.

Apparently these guys were rad at SXSW, but I just found them throughGirls‘ myspace page: Langley School x the Beach Boys x Spector = the Magic Kids’ “Hey Boy.”

Not much info on these kids at this point, and I suppose they could end up on either end of the gimmick/awesome spectrum, but keep an eye out for a release soon .

Grouper’s Way Their Crept was apparently reissued earlier this year, although no one ever told me about it, and it seems info on the reissue is kind of hard to come by. Anyway, you know how i feel about Liz Harris’ last album, and this one is almost as good, though it’s definitely on some bleaker, more atmospheric steez, and reaches deeper, murkier depths than the more song-oriented Dragging… It’s also best listened to as one long, continuous haunted drone, making it without question one of the best “sleep” albums of all time. You can download the whole thing in mp3 format today through Sunday only for just $2.99 here.

it’s some lost fuzzy late-’60s psychedelic pop/folk from Rockford, Illinois’ Pisces, and their unreleased/virtually unheard 1969 LP A Lovely Sight. From the label:

“1969′s A Lovely Sight, Pisces’ only attempt at an LP, never made wax; but the fuzz guitar phrases and tambourine shuffle of “Dear One” instantly illustrate the band’s woozy realm. Deeper inside, bass scales borrowed from Sgt. Pepper give way to Who moves wrecked by bad fidelity and harsh intrusions of found sounds. Jefferson Airplane’s swirled, lysergic Haight Street utopia melds with the urban narcosis of the Velvet Underground’s East Village.”

Initially, the combination of the Radiohead frontman and the metal-faced villain, seems incongruous. Upon closer examination, it’s perfectly natural: two insular, brooding weirdos, whose music reflects a constant, centrifugal tension with the world around them. Consequently, Yorke’s “Gazzilion Ear” remix manages to make Doom sound even more warped and eccentric than usual. Though, I’m guessing that the original paranoid android supported Obama.

Without her, there won’t be rad music scenes happening in SG. God save the Queen!

A former lawyer who is now a full-time mum is organizing gigs for international artistes here. The 36-year-old, a former partner in a medium-sized law firm, set up Greenhorn Productions in 2003.

So far, she has brought in six acts that includes folk-inspired pop/folk/blues singer-songwriters hailing from UK and further. But her biggest coup is Death Cab for Cutie gig at the Esplanade last Aug. Tickets to the American indie rock group’s gig sold out in less than a day. It took Mrs Choy-Dhillon two years of intermittent correspondence with the band’s agents to secure the gig. The easy-going and chatty Singaporean, who studied law in NUS said its a matter of matching which artistes we like to their schedules. It is easier for them if they’re touring the region.

She got into the business because she and lawyer husband thought that there was a dearth of music acts they liked in Singapore. They wanted to experiment bringing in talented artistes who may be unknown but whom we have faith in. Despite her passion for the business, she admits that there are worrying times prior to a gig. Marketing, publicity and, sometimes, even the time difference are some stress points in the business. Its usually fleeting, and its a good thing that both of them are in this together. As a music fan herself, she makes it a point to sit in the audience when the show is on. What’s the point of sitting backstage when we should be enjoying the music that they’re bringing in?

She regards the business more as a hobby than a full-time business, and says that the company has managed to break even or make a small profit on most of its gigs.

Greenhorn remains a one-woman show run from her apartment along Farrer Rd, and friends and family are roped in on concerts days to do anything from being the driver for the day to cooking for the artists.
